Our Summer Program: Small, Applied and Supportive

We are proud of our summer associate program. The purpose of this program is for us to get to know our summer recruits and to give them an opportunity to get to know us. In the course, we hope that our recruits learn from their summer experience with us and take that learning out into the world with them. Some facts you may want to consider.

• We are a relatively large firm and therefore have the ability to make offers of post-graduate employment each year.
• All assignments to summer associates are controlled by the same attorney to ensure that each associate enjoys a balanced experience and receives representative projects.
• Whenever possible, we include our summer associates in trials, court hearings, depositions, conferences, administrative agency hearings, arbitrations and negotiations. Our summer associates experience the inner workings of the legal process.
• Summer associates interact with all partners and associates. We do not limit them to select lawyers.
• We include summer associates in a variety of social activities and strive to create a supportive environment among summer associates and our permanent attorneys and staff.
• We are located in central Des Moines, with a wide variety of recreational activities close at hand, including restaurants, shopping, trails, live music, museums and theaters.
