Luke DeSmet

Attorney Luke DeSmet practices in the areas of bankruptcy, consumer protection, employment law, and personal injury. Mr. DeSmet appreciates the opportunity to help clients through difficult times in their lives and is pleased when he is able to reduce their burdens.

Mr. DeSmet grew up in Mitchell, South Dakota and later lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before attending the University of Wisconsin at Madison. After graduating, he attended Southern Illinois University School of Law where he graduated third in his class. While there, Mr. DeSmet was Lead Articles Editor of the Southern Illinois University Law Journal and parliamentarian of the Employment and Labor Law Association.

Upon entering practice, Mr. DeSmet joined a small firm in Southern Illinois practicing bankruptcy and consumer protection law. While there, he participated in a number of complex personal and business bankruptcies and assisted clients with many consumer law matters. Mr. DeSmet lives with his wife in West Des Moines.
