Eric Kenyatta Parrish

Eric Kenyatta Parrish is a partner in Parrish Kruidenier, a Des Moines law firm of fifteen attorneys, and practices in the areas of criminal defense, employment and labor law, civil rights, administrative law, family law, and appellate law. 

Mr. Parrish graduated with honors from Brown University before obtaining his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1997.  Mr. Parrish is admitted to practice law in the state courts throughout Iowa.

 

 

 

Representative Cases:

  • United States v. Yager, 328 F. 3d 1008 (8th Cir. 2003). 8th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed district court's sentencing order denying defendant a downward adjustment for being a minor participant in a methamphetamine manufacturing case.
  • In Re: Property Seized from Luis Roberto Flores, 2006 Iowa App. LEXIS 62. Client was allowed to keep personal property, including $30,000 truck, because it would be grossly disproportional to the client's criminal culpability; this decision was affirmed by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Hill v. McCartney, 590 N.W.2d 52 (Iowa App. 1998). Iowa Court of Appeals reversed District Court's summary judgment, allowing patient to pursue malpractice suit against dentist in holding that extrajudicial admissions could constitute expert medical testimony.
